SNACK FOOD DRIVE (THRU 9/30/18)
Room 29:11 is holding a snack food drive during the month of September. Snacks and single-serve microwaveable meals will be collected to help stock the snack closets at DHS and Room 29:11. Dropoff locations in Morrilton are Big Cuppa, Elia's Mexican Grill, Kidd Automotive and First United Methodist Church.

ANGEL TREE APPLICATIONS (THRU 10/15/18)
Applications for the Morrilton Adelaide Club's 28th Annual Angel Tree are available at the Conway County Department of Human Services thru October 15th. The club is accepting applications from legal guardians and custodial parents of children who live in Conway County and were born between September 1, 2004 and September 1, 2018. Completed applications can be left at the DHS office on Bruce Street in Morrilton or mailed to The Adelaide Club Angel Tree Project, P.O. Box 174, Morrilton, AR 72110.

PERRY COUNTY FAIR RODEO POSTPONED (9/21/18-9/22/18)
The Perry County Fair Rodeo, originally scheduled for Friday (9/21/18) and Saturday (9/22/18), has been postponed until next weekend (9/28-9/29).

GOSPEL CONCERT POSTPONED (9/22/18)
Due to the forecast for inclement weather, the Gospel concert that was scheduled for Saturday (9/22/18) at Perryville City Park has been postponed until November 3rd.

FALL SWAP MEET (9/22/18)
The 21st Annual Fall Antique Auto Swap Meet at the Museum of Automobiles on Petit Jean Mountain continues through Saturday (9/22/18). All activities are free and open to the public. An "open" car show will be held Saturday from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. with classes for virtually any vehicle made. Registration is $20 per car. There will also be a Military Vehicle Rally with over 50 restored vehicles on display and driving and individual activities will be conducted.

CHILI SUPPER (9/22/18)
The Lanty Heritage Association will have its annual chili supper on Saturday (9/22/18) from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Lanty Community Building on Hwy 287 in the Lanty Community. Meals that include chili, hot dogs, drink and dessert are $5 for adults and $3 for kids 9 and under. There will also be a raffle. For more information, call Jane McClaren at 354-0271.

PICKIN IN THE PARK (9/22/18)
A Pickin' in the Park fundraiser will be held Saturday (9/22/18) from 4:00-8:00 p.m. in the Conway County Multi-Purpose Building at the fairgrounds in Morrilton. Barbecue dinners will be sold for $20 per plate. There will also be a bake sale and Southern Grass, Interstate 30 and Heaven's Echoes will be performing. All proceeds will go towards medical expenses for Devon Wooten in his battle with brain cancer.

GOSPEL MEETING (9/23/18-9/27/18)
The Center Ridge Church of Christ will host its fall Gospel Meeting Sunday (9/23/18) at 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. and Monday (9/24/18) through Thursday (9/27/18) at 7:00 each night. The speakers are Loyd Harris on Sunday, Cody Bradford on Monday, Steve Sexton on Tuesday, Wyatt Reid on Wednesday and Matt Martin on Thursday.

INTERGOVERNMENTAL COUNCIL (9/24/18)
The Conway County Intergovernmental Council will meet Monday (9/24/18) at 9:00 a.m. in the first floor conference room at the courthouse in Morrilton to discuss the fall clean-up.

HOSPITAL BOARD MEETING (9/24/18)
The County Board of CHI St. Vincent Morrilton will hold its regular quarterly meeting on Monday (9/24/18) at noon at the Hickey Outpatient Clinic Building.

WASTEWATER UTILITY COMMISSION (9/24/18)
The Morrilton Wastewater Utility Commission will meet Monday (9/24/18) at 5:00 p.m. at the Wastewater Meeting Building in Chestnut Street.

CONWAY COUNTY QUORUM COURT (9/24/18)
The Conway County Quorum Court will meet Monday (9/24/18) at 6:00 p.m. at the courthouse in Morrilton.

COOKIE DECORATING COURSE (9/24/18)
The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton Department of Community Education will offer a non-credit course on Royal Icing Cookie Decorating on Monday (9/24/18) from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The cost is $25 and registration can be completed at www.uaccm.edu/workforce.

MENIFEE TOWN COUNCIL (9/24/18)
The Menifee Town Council will meet Monday (9/24/18) at 6:00 p.m. at Menifee Town Hall.

AUDUBON SOCIETY (9/24/18)
The Arkansas River Valley Audubon Society will meet Monday (9/24/18) at 7:00 p.m. in the Stables Classroom at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute on Petit Jean Mountain.

RIBBON CUTTING (9/25/18)
The Morrilton Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting at Lewisburg Bay Store at 1020 Bridge Street in Morrilton on Tuesday (9/25/18) at 11:00 a.m.

RACE TO THE FUTURE (9/25/18)
The South Conway County Public School Foundation will host the 2018 Race to the Future on Tuesday (9/25/18) at 5:30 p.m. at Devil Dog Arena. Entertainment will be provided by various school organizations and appetizers will be served while tours of the arena are given. Sponsorship information is available at www.sccpsf.org. Tickets will be available at the door for $10 for adults and $5 for students.

PERRY COUNTY ELECTION COMMISSION (9/26/18)
The Perry County Election Commission will meet Wednesday (9/26/18) at 4:30 p.m. at the Perry County Courthouse in Perryville.

RIBBON CUTTING (9/27/18)
The Morrilton Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting at Kidz Konnection at 1215 Hwy 9 Bypass in Morrilton on Thursday (9/27/18) at 10:00 a.m.

NEMO VISTA SCHOOL BOARD (9/27/18)
The Nemo Vista School Board's regular September meeting has been rescheduled for Thursday (9/27/18) at 6:30 p.m. in the adminstration building.

PERRY COUNTY FAIR RODEO (9/28/18-9/29/18)
The Perry County Fair Rodeo will take place Friday (9/28/18) and Saturday (9/29/18) at 8:00 p.m. in the arena at the Perry County Fairgrounds in Perryville. Admission is $10. There will also be concessions, t-shirts, vendors,snow cones, a watermelon crawl and calf scramble.

WOMEN'S CONFERENCE (9/29/18)
New Life Fellowship of Perryville will host a women's conference titled "I'm a Warrior" on Saturday (9/29/18) from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at the Camp Ouachita Great Hall on Lake Sylvia. The conference will be led by Sabrina Hayes of Sanctuary Girl MInistries in Atlanta, Georgia. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased through www.eventbrite.com or on the New Life Perryville Facebook page.

BRUCELLOSIS VACCIATION (10/1/18)
Livestock producers in Conway County who have heifer calves between the ages of 4 and 12 months are encouraged to have them vaccinated for brucellosis. Monday (10/1/18) is the deadline for interested cattle producers to call the County Extension Office at 977-2146. The vaccination program is provided free of charge.

PHOTOGRAPHY COURSE (10/2/18)
The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton Department of Community Education will offer a non-credit Basic Photography course from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from October 2nd-11th. The cost is $50 and registration can be completed at www.uaccm.edu/workforce.

BLOOD DRIVE (10/4/18)
Arkansas Blood Institute will hold a blood drive in the Hickey Building at CHI St. Vincent Morrilton on Thursday (10/4/18) from 10:00 a.m.-1:15 p.m. To schedule an appointment, visit www.arkbi.org and enter sponsor code: W318. All donors will receive a free Hog Wild t-shirt.

5K RUN (10/6/18)
The First Annual Break Away 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk will take place Saturday (10/6/18) at the Conway County Courthouse in Morrilton. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. and the race will start at 9:30. Prizes will be awarded and t-shirts are guaranteed to all participants registered by September 24th. You can register online at www.runsignup.com. All proceeds benefit The Safe Place.

WORKFORCE STRONG (10/6/18)
As part of National Manufacturing Day, the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton Department of Workforce Education will host a Workforce Strong career day on Saturday (10/6/18) from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at the UACCM Workforce Training Center. The free event will provide a closer look at career options available in the area and is designed for high school students interested in pursuing a technical certificate at UACCM or adults looking to enter the workforce. OKTOBERFEST (10/6/18)
Sacred Heart Catholic School in Morrilton will host its annual Oktoberfest on Saturday (10/6/18) in the school gymnasium. An all-you-can-eat turkey and dressing dinner will be served from 5:00-8:00 p.m. with carryouts available from 4:00-5:30 by calling 354-8113. Dinner prices are $13 for adults, $6 for children age 4-12 and free for kids 3 and under. There will also be games for all ages and a silent auction until 8:30 p.m. and a raffle for a Kawasaki Mule. New this year is a pumpkin patch craft station for kids and a beer garden for adults.

VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE (10/8/18)
Monday (10/8/18) is the deadline to register to vote in the November 6th general election.

CAKE DECORATING COURSE (10/9/18)
The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton Department of Community Education will offer a non-credit cake decorating course from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesdays from October 9-November 13. The cost is $50 and registration can be completed at www.uaccm.edu/workforce.
