BENEFIT DINNER (5/28/16)
The Jerusalem Freewill Baptist Church is hosting a benefit dinner for a needy family on Saturday (5/28/16) night.  There will be a poor boy supper and open mic singing and everyone is welcome.

GOSPEL MEETING (5/29/16-6/1/16)
The Plumerville Church of Christ is holding a Gospel Meeting Sunday (5/29/16) through Wednesday (6/1/16) with speaker Eddie Bowman of Galena, Missouri.  The Sunday service includes Bible class at 9:30 a.m., morning worship at 10:45, a potluck at noon and an evening service at 7:00 p.m.  Services will continue at 7:00 each night through Wednesday.

FAILED ACREAGE REPORTING (5/30/16)
Monday (5/30/16) is the deadline for farmers in Conway, Perry and Faulkner Counties to report prevented planting acreage for grain sorghum to the Farm Service Agency in Morrilton. Producers are asked to call 354-2000.

COURTHOUSE CLOSED (5/30/16)
The Conway County Courthouse and all local government offices will be closed Monday (5/30/16) for Memorial Day.

WALK OF FLAGS (5/30/16)
The Morrilton VFW will display its Veterans Walk of Flags on Monday (5/30/16) for Memorial Day.  The display of 700-plus American flags dedicated to local veterans is located along the walking trail on the lawn in front of CHI St. Vincent Morrilton.

DOGG DAZE PAGEANT (5/31/16)
The 2016 Dogg Daze Pageant will be held June 4th at the Hector School cafeteria.  There are categories for all girls up to age 21 and for boys from 0-3 and 4 and up.  The entry fee is $25 and the attire is casual wear only.  For more information and entry forms, call Amanda at 479-886-0233 or email doggdazepageant@gmail.com.  Forms are also available at Hector City Hall, The Hector Pharmacy and The Store.  The deadline to enter is Tuesday (5/31/16).

SENIOR CITIZEN POTLUCK (6/1/16)
The Plumerville monthly senior citizens potluck luncheon will be held Wednesday (6/1/16) at 11:30 a.m. in the Plumerville Senior Center.  All area senior citizens are welcome.

CEREAL DRIVE (6/2/16)
THV 11 will hold its summer cereal drive at the Morrilton Walmart on Thursday (6/2/16) from 5:00-9:30 a.m.  Donations of cereal, cereal bars, pop tarts, cream of wheat, oatmeal or any non-perishable breakfast item can be made that morning or prior to the event at Kroger, Walmart, Morrilton First Baptist Church or Morrilton Primary School.

MHS REUNION BRUNCH (6/3/16)
Pre-registration for the 2016 Morrilton High School Golden Reunion Brunch is due Friday (6/3/16).  A check for $15 per person to the South Conway County Public School Foundation can be mailed to the MHS Alumni Committee, P.O. Box 318, Morrilton, AR 72110.

YARD SALE (6/3/16-6/4/16)
The Lanty Heritage Association will have a yard sale on Friday (6/3/16) and Saturday (6/4/16) from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. both days at the Lanty Community Building on Hwy 287.  All proceeds go toward the community building improvements and funds to install a kitchen.  There will also be a bake shop and sweet shop both days.  For more information, call Jane McClaren at 354-0271.

SH BAZAAR (6/3/16-6/4/16)
Sacred Heart Catholic School in Morrilton will hold its annual bazaar on Friday (6/3/16) and Saturday (6/4/16).  The midway with games for all ages will be open Friday from 6:00-11:00 p.m. and Saturday from 5:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m.  A spaghetti and sausage and turkey and dressing dinner will be served Saturday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. in the school gym.  Carryouts will be available starting at 4:00.  Saturday will also feature a silent auction, and a drawing for a 2016 Ford Mustang and other prizes.  There will also be a Baggo Tournament on Friday.  For more information, call the school at 354-8113 or visit www.sacredheartmorrilton.org.

DUTCH OVEN COOKOFF (6/3/16-6/5/16)
The 2016 Arkansas Dutch Oven State Championship Cookoff will be held Saturday (6/4/16) and Sunday (6/5/16) in the overflow camping area at Petit Jean State Park.  Saturday's activites include peoples' choice and youth categories, along with the official sanctioned competition.  There will also be cooking demonstrations and other activities for the public.  Sunday's events include a Cowboy Church at 11:00 a.m., a lunch at noon and Gospel music at 2:00 p.m.  All proceeds and donations collected will go for scholarships and school supplies for students in Conway County.

BREAKFAST FUNDRAISER (6/4/16)
The Cherry Hill Volunteer Fire Department will host a breakfast on Saturday (6/4/16) from 7:00-10:00 a.m. at the fire station.  The menu will include eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, hashbrowns, pancakes, milk, coffee and orange juice.  There is no per plate charge, but any and all donations will be appreciated.  Proceeds go toward operating expenses and maintenance of the department vehicles and buildings.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL (6/4/16)
The Harding Street Church of Christ will have a Vacation Bible School on Saturday (6/4/16) starting at 9:00 a.m.  The theme is Moses.  There will be classes for all ages, including adults.

OLIGER FAMILY REUNION (6/4/16)
The Oliger family will have its family reunion on Saturday (6/4/16) beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the Birdtown Community Building located 14 miles north of Morrilton on Highway 9.

FAMILY LEGO DAY (6/4/16)
The University of Central Arkansas in Conway will have a Family Lego Day on Saturday (6/4/16) from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the UCA Brewer-Hegeman Conference Center.  Children will build and take home their own Lego kit, receive tips for future Lego builds, learn Lego trivia, have a chance to win Lego prizes and learn the basic steps in making a Lego movie.  The course is for children age 5 and up.  To register, call 501-450-3118.

DINNER AND AUCTION (6/4/16)
The First Annual Greenbrier FFA Reunion Dinner and Auction to benefit the Greenbrier FFA chapter will be held Saturday (6/4/16) in the Greenbrier High School Commons Area.  A beef brisket dinner starts at 5:00 p.m. and costs $7.  A live auction starts at 6:30.
