RODEO CANCELLED (8/18/17-8/19/17)
Due to weather, the 2017 Perry County Fair Rodeo scheduled for Friday (8/18/17) and Saturday (8/19/17) has been rescheduled for September 29-30. The dance will still be held Friday night starting at 8:00. Tickets for that are $5 for adults. 

SOLAR ECLIPSE WEEKEND (8/18/17-8/21/17)
Petit Jean State Park will host a weekend full of programs revolving around the sun, moon and stars in the days leading up to the solar eclipse. Various free programs and activities are planned Friday (8/18/17), Saturday (8/19/17) and Sunday (8/20/17) before the solar eclipse viewing begins at 11:00 a.m. Monday (8/21/17) at the park's picnic area. Staff will provide a safe and enjoyable way to view the eclipse, which reaches its peak at 1:15 p.m. Monday.

CENTER RIDGE MASONIC LODGE (8/19/17)
The Center Ridge Lodge of Free Masons will meet Saturday (8/19/17) at 7:00 p.m.

CHURCH HOMECOMING (8/20/17)
Portland Missionary Baptist Church in Plumerville is hosting its 84th Anniversary and Homecoming on Sunday (8/20/17). Sunday School starts at 10:00 a.m. Brother Charles Roach will preach in the 10:45 morning service. That will be followed by a noon meal and an afternoon service at 1:30 with singing, thoughts on the history of the church and a message by Brother David Hall.

VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE (8/21/17)
The deadline to register to vote in the September 19th school election is Monday (8/21/17).

VOLLEYBALL REGISTRATION DEADLINE (8/21/17)
The deadline to sign up for the City of Morrilton Parks and Recreation Department's girls youth volleyball league is Monday (8/21/17). The league is open to girls in 4th, 5th and 6th grade. Registration is $40 for one child, $70 for two children or $90 for three children. Registration forms can be picked up at the Community Center in Morrilton.

WASTEWATER UTILITY COMMISSION (8/21/17)
The regular meeting of the Morrilton Wastewater Utility Commission will be held Monday (8/21/17) at 5:00 p.m. in the Wastewater Meeting Building on Chestnut Street.

SCCSD SCHOOL BOARD (8/21/17)
The South Conway County School Board will meet Monday (8/21/17) at 6:00 p.m. at the superintendent's office in Morrilton.

PERRY COUNTY CHAMBER BOARD (8/22/17)
The Perry County Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly Board of Directors meeting on Tuesday (8/22/17) at noon at the Max Milam Library in Perryville.

RETIRED TEACHERS ASSOCIATION (8/24/17)
The Conway County Retired Teachers Association will meet Thursday (8/24/17) at 10:00 a.m. in the Annex meeting room of the South Conway County School District east of the bus barn in Morrilton. All retired school personnel are invited.

RODEO QUEEN REGISTRATION (8/25/17)
Friday (8/25/17) is the deadline to register for the 2017 Conway County Fair Rodeo Queens Contest  to be held August 29th at the Willis Horse Farm near St. Vincent. The competition is open to Conway County residents age 5-21. The entry fee is $75. For more information, call Kristi Strain at 242-3593 or email strain@uaccm.edu.

​POPE COUNTY FAIR PAGEANT REGISTRATION (8/25/17)
Friday (8/25/17) is the deadline to register for the 2017 Pope County Fair Pageants, scheduled for September 2nd at the Atkins High School Auditorium. Entry forms are available online at www.popecountyfair.com.

FAIR PAGEANTS (8/26/17)
The Conway County Fair Pageants will be held Saturday (8/26/17) in the Multi-Purpose Building at the fairgrounds in Morrilton. Pageants for the 0-8 year old age groups will start at 11:00 a.m. Pageants for 9 years old and up will begin at 3:00 p.m. Admission is $4 for senior citizens and for children age 5-12 and $5 for adults.

BLOOD DRIVE (8/26/17)
The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive on Saturday (8/26/17) from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at Car-Mart in Morrilton.

BENEFIT SINGING (8/26/17)
A benefit singing featuring Stacy Willcutt and Branded by Grace will be held Saturday (8/26/17) at 6:30 p.m. at Smith Springs Freewill Baptist Church in Morrilton. An auction will follow, and if you'd like to donate items for the auction, you can call Jerri at 908-6083. All proceeds go to help Lance Spires in his battle with lymphoma.

CHURCH FAMILY DAY (8/27/17)
Family Life Worship Center in Morrilton is holding its Friends and Family Day on Sunday (8/27/17). The celebration begins with the 11:00 a.m. service, followed by a noon potluck in the fellowship hall. A singing featuring "Mercies Bridge" will take place at 2:00 p.m. in the auditorium. There will also be water games for children in the afternoon. For more information, call 208-1160.

BLOOD DRIVE (8/28/17)
The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive on Monday (8/28/17) from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at the Community Center in Morrilton.

AUDUBON SOCIETY (8/28/17)
The Arkansas River Valley Audubon Society will meet Monday (8/28/17) at 7:00 p.m. in the Lakeview Room at Lake Dardanelle State Park in Russellville. The program will be presented by Marcus Asher, Quail Program Coordinator with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. Refreshments will be served and the public is welcome to attend.

RODEO QUEENS CONTEST (8/29/17)
The Conway County Fair Rodeo Queens Contest will take place Tuesday (8/29/17) at 5:30 p.m. at the Willis Horse Farm in St. Vincent.

MAMMOGRAMS (8/30/17)
The UAMS Mobile MammoVan will provide on-site mammograms at the Perryville United Methodist Church on Wednesday (8/30/17) starting at 8:00 a.m. Pre-registration is required. Call 1-800-259-8794 to schedule an appointment.

POPE CO FAIR PAGEANTS (9/2/17)
The 2017 Pope County Fair Pageants will take place Saturday (9/2/17) at the Atkins High School Auditorium. The Little Miss and Mister pageants will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Miss, Teen and Mrs. pageants will begin at 6:00 p.m.

CHURCH HOMECOMING (9/3/17)
The Mallettown United Methodist Church will be celebrating its annual Homecoming  on Sunday (9/3/17). Services will begin with the 11:00 a.m. morning worship, followed by a potluck dinner and an afternoon of Gospel music featuring the Dunlap Singers. The church is located five miles east of Springfield just off Highway 124 on Mallettown Road.
