Morrilton City Hall will be closed Friday (7/3/15) in observance of Independence Day. The landfill will be open for regular business hours that day from 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
YARD SALE (7/3/15-7/4/15)
Sacred Heart Catholic School's annual indoor yard sale will be held in the school gym Friday (7/3/15) and Saturday (7/4/15) beginning at 8:00 a.m. each day. Donations are currently being accepted at the school.
FIRST FRIDAY FLIX (7/3/15)
The Rialto Theatre in downtown Morrilton will offer a free showing of the movie Apollo 13 on Friday (7/3/15) at 7:00 p.m. Donations for a local school district will be accepted at the door and concessions will be available.

QUILT PRESENTATION (7/4/15)
The Conway County Piecemakers' Independence Day service and presentation of quilts to veterans, originally planned for the front lawn of St. Vincent Morrilton hospital, will be held at Morrilton High School's H.B. White Auditorium at 9:00 a.m. Saturday (7/4/15). Attendees are asked to use the back parking lot of the auditorium.
CHURCH POTLUCK (7/4/15)
Vinson Chapel, located on Highway 95 north of Wonderview, will host a potluck with singing and preaching on Saturday (7/4/15) at noon. Everyone is welcome.
FABULOUS FOURTH (7/4/15)
The 17th Fabulous Fourth celebration will take place Saturday (7/4/15) beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Cherokee Park in Morrilton. The event includes free hot dogs, watermelon, iced tea and lemonade; children's games; balloons; live music; a watermelon eating contest; and apple pie bakeoff; and a spectacular fireworks show starting at 9:15 p.m. Admission and all activities are free to the public.
HARRIS BRAKE JULY 4TH CELEBRATION (7/4/15)

ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (7/6/15)
ARVAC's low-income summer cooling program will open Monday (7/6/15). The program is for assistance with electric only. Residents of Conway County wishing to apply should visit the ARVAC office located in the Conway County Couthouse or call Dana Ferguson at 354-5344. FOOTBALL CAMP (7/6/15-7/7/15)
Morrilton High School football coaches will be hosting the Devil Dup Kids Camp for grades K-6 on Monday (7/6/15) and Tuesday (7/7/15) from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at Devil Dog Stadium. Campers will learn the basic fundamentals of football, as well as proper technique for each position. The cost is $40, which must be paid on the first day of the camp.
TEA PARTY MEETING (7/6/15)
The Tri-County Tea-Party will meet Monday (7/6/15) at 7:00 p.m. in the Quorum Court room at the Pope County Courthouse in Russellville. The guest speaker will be Senator Jim Hendren, head of the Arkansas Health Care Task Force.

SCHOOL ELECTION PETITION DEADLINE (7/7/15)
Tuesday (7/7/15) at noon is the deadline to file a petition of candidacy for the annual school election. Petitions must be filed with the County Clerk's Office.
ABATE 17 MEETING (7/7/15)
ABATE 17 will meet Tuesday (7/7/15) at 6:00 p.m. at Smitty's Bar-B-Q in Conway. All riders and motorcycle enthusiasts are welcome.
ELECTION COMMISSION (7/8/15)
The Conway County Election Commission will meet Wednesday (7/8/15) at 2:00 p.m. in the first floor conference room at the courthouse in Morrilton to draw for ballot positions and set up the September 15th school election.
HISTORIC PRESERVATION PROGRAM (7/9/15)
Shelle Stormoe, education coordinator for the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, will make a presentation on historic preservation at the Conway County Library in Morrilton at 10:00 a.m. Thursday (7/9/15). The presentation will be on "Mysteries of the Mounds," focusing on the Native Americans who inhabited Arkansas during the prehistoric period and on the Parkin and Toltec archeological sites.
BLOOD DRIVE (7/9/15)
The American Red Cross will host a blood drive Thursday (7/9/15) from 1:00-6:00 p.m. at the Perryville Fire Department.
PREVENTED ACREAGE REPORTING (7/10/15)
Friday (7/10/15) is the final day for farmers to file prevented planted acreage/credit for soybeans following another crop through the Farm Service Agency. Eligible producers are asked to visit the Conway/Perry/Faulkner County FSA office in Morrilton prior to the deadline.

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton will offer a free showing of the move Furious 7 for its next Starlight Cinema outdoor movie night. The movie will be shown Tuesday (7/14/15) at sundown, around 8:30 p.m., on the lawn outside the Fine Arts Building. A free concession stand will open at 8:15 with popcorn and drinks while supplies last. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved indoors to the Fine Arts Auditorium.
