5K REGISTRATION (TFN)
Registration is open for the first annual Cameron Chancellor 5K to be held October 18th in Morrilton.  Proceeds from the race will benefit the Cameron Chancellor Scholarship Fund.  Registration can be made online at www.racesonline.com.  There will be categories for runners and walkers.  Early bird entry fee is $25.  For more information, contact Tracie Flowers-Stobaugh at 215-7154.

LANDFILL COMMITTEE (9/2/14)
The Morrilton City Council Landfill Committee will meet Tuesday (9/2/14) at noon in the Wastewater Conference Room on Chestnut Street.

PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION (9/2/14)
There will be a special called meeting of the Morrilton Planning and Zoning Commission Tuesday (9/2/14) at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Meeting Room at City Hall.

ARCHEOLOGICAL SOCIETY (9/2/14)
The Arkansas River Valley Chapter of the Arkansas Archeological Society will meet Tuesday (9/2/14) at 7:00 p.m. in the Arkansas Tech University Museum in Russellville.  The program "Volunteer Opportunities at the Ozark-St. Francis National Forest" will be presented by Dr. Mary Z. Brennan, national forest archeologist.  The program is free to the public.

SENIOR CITIZEN POTLUCK (9/3/14)
The Plumerville Area Senior Citizen monthly potluck luncheon will be held Wednesday (9/3/14) at the W.C. Plummer Senior Center.  The group will meet at 11;30 and the meal will begin at noon.  All area senior citizens are invited to participate.

CONWAY COUNTY FAIR (9/3/14-9/6/14)
The 2014 Conway County Fair will take place Wednesday (9/3/14) through Saturday (9/6/14) at the fairgrounds in Morrilton.  The midway will be open from 5:00-10:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and from 5:00-11:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday.  You can get a coupon to get $5 off the price of an armband at Agri Co-Op Supply, Blue Diamond Café and all local banks.  The parade will start at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday in downtown Morrilton with the theme "Rainbow Dreams and Country Scenes."  All entries must be registered by 4:00 p.m. Tuesday by calling Gary Jackson at 354-6239.  For more information about the fair including a complete schedule of events, visit www.conwaycountyfair.com.

CHURCH PRESENTATION (9/3/14)
The Morrilton Downtown Church of Christ will begin a series of Wednesday night presentations on the dangers of an addiction to pornography.  The first presentation will be held September 3rd, at 7:00 p.m. and the topic will be "The reality and pervasiveness of pornography" by Dr. Lou Butterfield, founder and director of the Center for Christian Communication of Searcy.  The presentations are for adults and teens and will continue through October 8th.

FOOD BOX APPLICATIONS (9/4/14)
The Salvation Army will be taking applications for food boxes on Thursday (9/4/14) from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the Morrilton Housing Authority.  Applicants must bring photo identification for the head of household, a utility bill for proof of residency, and proof of income.  You must apply in person and be a Conway County resident.

BLOOD DRIVE (9/4/14)
The American Red Cross will host a blood drive Thursday (9/4/14) from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the Thomas Hickey Building at St. Vincent Morrilton.

DAV MEETING (9/4/14)
Chapter 13 of the Disabled American Veterans will meet Thursday (9/4/14) at 10:00 a.m. at Brookridge Cove Nursing Center.

PLUMERVILLE MASONIC LODGE (9/5/14)
The Plumerville Lodge of Free Masons will meet Friday (9/5/14) at 7:00 p.m.

BREAKFAST FUNDRAISER (9/6/14)
The Cherry Hill Volunteer Fire Department will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast on Saturday (9/6/14) from 7:00-10:00 a.m. at the fire department on Cherry Hill Loop.  The menu will include eggs, sausage, bacon, hashbrowns, pancakes, biscuits and gravy.  There will be no per plate charge, but any and all donations will be accepted and appreciated.

4-H KICKOFF (9/6/14)
The Rainey Parenting Foundation board members, 4-H Club members and the Rainey Family invite the public to their kickoff event on Saturday (9/6/14) from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at the Morrilton High School gym.  There will be music, food and a three-point competition along with visits from Razorback legends Marvin Delph and Andrew Lang.  For more information and to register for the three-point competition, visit www.raineyparenting.org.

BLOOD DRIVE (9/9/14)
The American Red Cross will host a blood drive Tuesday (9/9/14) from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. at Green Bay Packaging's Arkansas Kraft Division in Morrilton.

PROJECT GRADUATION (9/9/14)
The Morrilton High School Project Graduation committee will have its first meeting Tuesday (9/9/14) at 6:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church Family Life Center located across from the county courthouse in Morrilton.  All parents of Morrilton High School seniors are encouraged to attend to begin the planning process for the after graduation party.

The Morrilton Lodge of Free Masons will meet Tuesday (9/9/14) at 7:00 p.m.

JUMPING FOR JESUS (9/10/14)
Calvary Baptist Church's children's program, Jumping for Jesus, will resume Wednesday (9/10/14) at 6:00 p.m.  and continue each Wednesday during the school year.  The Bible-based program is for ages 3 through the 6th grade and all are welcome.  If you need a ride, call the church at 354-2117.  The church is located across from the post office on Clifton Street in Morrilton.

LOCAL ART EXHIBIT (9/12/14)
The Rialto Gallery in downtown Morrilton will accept entries for its local artists' exhibit on Friday (9/12/14).  The exhibit will open Saturday (9/13/14) and remain on display through November 14th.  There is an entry fee of $5 per entry and a limit of three works to two-dimensional art.  Artists who live in, work in or are from Conway County are eligible to participate.  For an entry form or questions, call Coe Wilson at 208-2264 or email coewilson2@att.net.

FISH FRY (9/13/14)
The River Valley Log a Load for Kids will host its annual fish fry fundraiser on Saturday (9/13/14) at the L.V. Williamson Boys and Girls Club in Russellville.  Doors open at 4:00 p.m.  Dinner starts at 5:00.  Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for kids.  There will also be several live and silent auction items.  All proceeds benefit the Arkansas Children's Hospital.

The American Red Cross will host a blood drive Monday (9/15/14) from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at C-4 in Morrilton.

INTERGOVERNMENTAL COUNCIL (9/16/14)
The Conway County Intergovernmental Council will meet Tuesday (9/16/14) at 1:00 p.m. in the first floor conference room of the courthouse in Morrilton to discuss the fall cleanup and 911 updates.

SOLGOHACHIA MASONIC LODGE (9/18/14)
The Solgohachia Lodge of Free Masons will meet Thursday (9/18/14) at 7:00 p.m.

PLUMERVILLE MASONIC LODGE (9/19/14)
The Plumerville Lodge of Free Masons will meet Friday (9/19/14) at 7:00 p.m.

RACE TO THE FUTURE (9/23/14)
The South Conway County Public School Foundation will hold its 15th annual "Race to the Future" fundraising dinner on Tuesday (9/23/14) at 6:30 p.m. in the Morrilton High School cafeteria.  Dinner tickets are $25 each and several sponsorship levels are available.  For more information, visit www.sccspf.org.
