CONWAY COUNTY CLEANUP (5/1/17-5/6/17)
The annual spring cleanup for Conway County begins Monday (5/1/17).  The call-in period for Morrilton and Plumerville  is Monday and Tuesday with pick-up Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The number to call in Morrilton is 354-5299. The number for Plumerville is 354-2015.  Call-in for Oppelo and the unincorporated communities is Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with pick-up or fire station drop-off Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The number for Oppelo is 354-2454. Elderly or disabled resident of rural Conway County can call 354-9640. The call-in for Menifee is Thursday and Friday with pick-up on Saturday. Residents of Menifee can call 354-0898. In addition, the Morrilton Landfill will be open Saturday (5/6/17) from 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. for free dumping for all Conway County residents.

EARLY VOTING (5/2/17)
Early voting for the May 9th special election in Plumerville begins Tuesday (5/2/17).  It will take place weekdays from 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the Conway County Clerk's Office at the courthouse in Morrilton through Monday, May 9th.

SENIOR CITIZEN LUNCHEON (5/3/17)
The Plumerville Senior Citizens monthly potluck luncheon will be held Wednesday (5/3/17) at 11:30 a.m. in the Plumerville Senior Center.  All area senior citizens are invited.

YARD SALE (5/4/17-5/6/17)
The Lanty Heritage Association will have its annual inside yard sale fundraiser on Thursday (5/4/17), Friday (5/5/17) and Saturday (5/6/17) from 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. daily at the Lanty Community Building on Hwy 287 in Lanty.  All proceeds go to the building fund.  For more information, call Jane McClaren at 354-0271 or Martha McClaren at 354-5729.

BLOOD DRIVE (5/4/17)
The Arkansas Blood Institute is holding a blood drive on Thursday (5/4/17) from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. in the Hickey Building at CHI St. Vincent Morrilton. All donors will receive a limited edition vintage t-shirt.  For more information, call Tammy Smith at 977-2455.

PICKLEFEST PAGEANT (5/5/17)
Registration for the annual Picklefest Pageants in Atkins is due Friday (5/5/17). Entry forms are available online at www.peopleforabetteratkins.org. Entry fee is $25 and attire is casual wear only. KIDS COLLEGE (5/5/17)
Registration for the annual Kids College at the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton must be completed by Friday (5/5/17).  The camp will take place June 5-8 and is open to kids entering 1st-4th grades in August.  The cost is $75 per child. ASSISTANCE PROGRAM CLOSING (5/5/17)
ARVAC's Crisis Intervention Assistance Program will close at the close of business on Friday (5/5/17).

CINCO DE MAYO (5/5/17)
Sacred Heart Catholic School will host a Cinco de Mayo celebration on Friday (5/5/17) in the school gym.​ An all-you-can-eat dinner of authentic tacos, chips, salsa and cheese dip will be served from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tickets are $15 for age 12 and over, $10 for kids age 6-12 and free for kids 5 and under. Flashback will play from 8:00-10:00 p.m. when drink bracelets will be available for purchase. Tickets are available in the school office and online at www.sacredheartmorrilton.org.

CAR WASH (5/6/17)
The Morrilton Junior High and 7th grade cheer and dance teams will hold a car wash on Saturday (5/6/17) from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. at Morrilton Family Dental. The cost is $10 per car. Advance tickets can be purchased from any cheer or dance team member. Snow cones will also be sold at the event. All proceeds benefit the MJHS cheer and dance teams.

PLUMERVILLE ELECTION (5/9/17)
Polls for the City of Plumerville special election will be open Tuesday (5/9/17) from 7:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. The election is only for residents in the city limits of Plumerville and the only polling site that will be open that day is located at the Plumerville Community Room.

WIND DAMAGE ASSISTANCE (5/12/17)
Farmers in northern Conway County who suffered damage from the tornadoes and straight line winds on March 1st have until Friday (5/12/17) to sign up for cost-share assistance through the Emergency Conservation Program. For more information or to apply for assistance, visit the Farm Service Agency office in Morrilton or call 354-2000 ext. 2.

CAREER EXPLORATION (5/15/17)
The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton is hosting two free "Career Exploration" events in June for students who have completed the 8th-12th grades. The two-day events are scheduled for June 12-13 and June 14-15. Registration is available online at www.uaccm.com/workforce and must be completed by Monday (5/15/17).

SUMMER KICKOFF (5/17/17)
The First Baptist Church of Morrilton is hosting a summer kickoff with free food and snow cones on Wednesday (5/17/17) at 5:00 p.m.  For more information, call J.D. Cariker at 269-1206.

GO GRAY IN MAY 5K (5/20/17)
Going Gray for Julie presents the Go Gray in May 5K on Saturday (5/20/17) at 8:00 a.m. starting in the parking lot of the Downtown Church of Christ in Morrilton. Registration is $30 and can be completed online at www.runsignup.com. BEAUTY IN BROKENNESS GALA (5/20/17)
The CALL in Faulkner and Conway Counties presents the 1st Annual Beauty in Brokenness Gala on Saturday (5/20/17) from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in Conway. A table for 8 can be reserved by emailing louise.witcher@thecallinarkansas.org.

CASH AND THE KING (5/20/17)
Award-winning tribute artists David Allen and Michael Cullipher present Cash & The King, a Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley tribute concert on Saturday (5/20/17) at 7:00 p.m. at the Rialto Theatre in downtown Morrilton.  Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online at www.ringoffirelive.com or at the door.

PESTICIDE APPLICATOR TRAINING (5/23/17)
The Conway County Extension Service will offer a pesticide applicator training on Tuesday (5/23/17) at 6:00 p.m. in the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton Fine Arts Auditorium. A $10 training fee is payable at the door.  For more information, call the Extension Office at 977-2146.
