BURN BAN LIFTED (TFN)
The burn ban for Conway has been lifted. It remains in effect for Perry County until further notice.

HAUNTED ASYLUM (THRU 10/28/17)
The Perry County Fair Association is hosting a haunted asylum at the fairgrounds in Perryville. It's open October 20-21 and 27-28 from 7:00-11:00 each night. The cost is $5 for ages 10 and up and free for kids age 9 and under.

HOUSE OF TERROR (THRU 10/31/17)
The 2017 House of Terror Haunted House at 309 East Broadway in Morrilton will be open October 20-21 and 26-30 at 7:00 each night, and starting at 5:00 p.m. on October 31st. BASKETBALL REGISTRATION (10/18/17)
The deadline to register for the Morrilton Parks and Recreation Department's youth basketball league is Wednesday (10/18/17). The league is open to girls and boys in grades 3-6. Registration is $50 for one child, $90 for two children or $120 for three children in the same family. You can register at the Community Center in Morrilton. COMMODITIES ISSUED (10/18/17)
ARVAC will issue commodities for eligible households in Conway County on Wednesday (10/18/17) from 9:00 a.m.-noon at the National Guard Armory in Morrilton. Applicants must provide proof of income, number of people in the household and Social Security card.

MICROSOFT EXCEL COURSE (10/19/17)
The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton Office of Workforce and Community Education is offering a Microsoft Excel Intermediate class from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursdays from October 26th-December 14th. Registration is $100 and must be paid by Thursday (10/19/17). Registration can be completed at www.uaccm.edu/workforce or by calling Vicki Shadell at 977-2132.

WONDERVIEW SCHOOL BOARD (10/19/17)
The Wonderview School Board will meet Thursday (10/19/17) at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room at the superintendent's office.

NAACP (10/19/17)
The Conway County branch of the NAACP will meet Thursday (10/19/17) at 7:00 p.m. at the Mt. Carmel Education Complex in Plumerville.

PLUMERVILLE MASONIC LODGE (10/19/17)
The Plumerville Lodge of Free Masons will meet Thursday (10/19/17) at 7:00 p.m.

HARVEST OF HOPE (10/21/17)
The Conway County Care Center will culminate its annual Harvest of Hope food drive with the "Fill the Truck" event on Saturday (10/21/17). Non-perishable food items can be donated at the truck in the Haynes Home Center parking lot from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Volunteers will also taking donations at Walmart, Kroger and Harps in Morrilton.

JERUSALEM ALUMNI BANQUET (10/21/17)
The Jerusalem School Alumni Banquet will take place Saturday (10/21/17) from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. at Western Sizzlin in Russellville. All graduates and residents or former residents of Jerusalem are invited. For more information, call Aleda Bateman at 669-2911.

FISH FRY (10/21/17)
The Kilgore Free Will Baptist Church, located 12 miles north of Morrilton on Hwy 9, will host a fish fry on Saturday (10/21/17) at 5:00 p.m. The price is $8 for adults, $4 for children age 5-11 and free for children 4 and under with a $25 max per family.

ELVIS CONCERT (10/21/17)
Elvis impersonator Tom Christopher is holding a benefit concert on Saturday (10/21/17) from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at 214 Archey Fork Road in Clinton. Heath Sanders of Clinton will open the show. Tickets are $10 for adults and free for kids age 10 and under. A portion of the proceeds will be used to support the Fuzzy Hearts Animal Rescue and Snyp Arkansas.

SPAGHETTI DINNER (10/21/17)
The Altar Society at St. Mary Catholic Church in St. Vincent, located ten miles north of Morrilton on Hwy 95, will host its annual all-you-can-eat spaghetti and sausage dinner on Saturday (10/21/17) from 5:00-8:00 p.m. in the parish hall. Meals are $10 for adults, $5 for ages 6-12 and free for kids under age 6. Adult take-out meals are available. The event also includes a bake sale, country kitchen and silent auction.

CENTER RIDGE MASONIC LODGE (10/21/17)
The Center Ridge Lodge of Free Masons will meet Saturday (10/21/17) at 7:00 p.m.

FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY (10/22/17)
The Conway County Library's annual Friends of the Library meeting will take place Sunday (10/22/17) at 2:00 p.m. at the library. The guest speaker will be Judge Charles Eddy, who will be discussing his new memoir on hunting wild sheep. Light refreshments will be provided. Call 354-5204 for more information.

QUORUM COURT (10/23/17)
The Conway County Quorum Court will meet Monday (10/23/17) at 6:00 p.m. at the courthouse in Morrilton. A joint meeting of the Budget & Finance and Personnel & Governmental Committees will take place prior to the meeting at 5:30 and a meeting of the Budget & Finance Committee will follow the meeting. 

4-H BANQUET (10/23/17)
Conway County 4-H will hold its annual awards banquet on Monday (10/23/17) at 6:00 p.m. in the Downtown Church of Christ Family Life Center.

AUDUBON SOCIETY (10/23/17)
The Arkansas River Valley Audubon Society will meet Monday (10/23/17) at 7:00 p.m. in Room 010 of the Donald W. Reynolds Center for Life Sciences at Hendrix College in Conway. A program on Least Terns will be presented. Refreshments will be served and the public is invited to attend.

PROSTATE SCREENING (10/24/17)
Free prostate screenings will be offered for men age 25 and older on Tuesday (10/24/17) from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Plumerville.

ALZHEIMER'S COURSE (10/26/17)

RETIRED TEACHERS ASSOCIATION (10/26/17)
The Conway County Retired Teachers Association will meet Thursday (10/26/17) at 10:00 a.m. at Elia's Mexican Grill in Morrilton. All retired school personnel are invited.

LUNCH AND BAKE SALE (10/26/17)
The CHI St. Vincent Morrilton Auxiliary is hosting a beans and cornbread lunch on Thursday (10/26/17) from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at the hospital dining room. Meals are $6 and are available for carryout by calling 977-2455 or 215-3915. There will also be a mini bake sale and a drawing for a queen size quilt. Tickets for the drawing are $1 each or 6 for $5 and can be purchased at the hospital gift shop, front desk or from any Auxiliary member.

HALLOWEEN CRAFTS (10/28/17)
The Conway County Library is holding a Halloween craft event for children on Saturday (10/28/17) starting at 10:00 a.m.

JUNIOR GOLF CLINIC (10/28/17)
Community Service, Incorporated's First Tee program is hosting a free junior golf clinic for kids age 7-12 on Saturday (10/28/17) from 10:00 a.m.-noon at Morrilton City Park. Only 30 slots are available, so registration is required. Forms are available at Community Service, Incorporated in Morrilton.

CHILI SUPPER (10/28/17)
The Lanty Heritage Association will have a chili supper fundraiser on Saturday (10/28/17) from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Lanty Community Building. Meals are $5 for adults and $3 for kids. There will also be a raffle for a Yeti Tundra 35 cooler. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. There will also be a silent auction.

CHURCH HOMECOMING (10/29/17)
The Dunlap Singers will be singing at the 104th Homecoming celebration service of the Morrilton Church of the Nazarene on Sunday (10/29/17) at 10:30 a.m. A potluck lunch will follow the service at the McKinney Family Life Center.

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton Office of Workforce and Community Education is offering a course on Microsoft Access on Mondays from 5:00-7:00 p.m. from November 6-December 11. FISH FRY AND HALLOWEEN COSTUME (10/31/17)
The Diane Wilson Senior Adult Center in Perryville and the T.C. Vaughan Senior Adult Center in Morrilton are hosting a fish fry fundraiser and Halloween costume contest on Tuesday (10/31/17). Meals are $7 at each location. In Perryville, dine-in meals are served from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and take-out is available from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. by calling 889-5587. In Morrilton, dine-in is served from 12:00-1:00 p.m. with take-out available from 11:00-12:00 by calling 354-8044 and delivery is available for orders of ten or more.

MONSTERS ON MAIN (10/31/17)
Main Street Morrilton will host its annual Monsters on Main Street event on Tuesday (10/31/17) from 4:00-6:00 p.m. in downtown Morrilton. Activities include trick-or-treating at downtown merchants, games at the courthouse parking lot, a fortune teller in the pocket park, a pet costume contest at 4:30 at the pocket park, a kids costume contest at the Rialto at 6:00, and hot dogs and drinks will be sold for 50 cents each.

LIFE SUPPORT CLASS (11/1/17)
The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton Office of Workforce and Community Education is offering an Advanced Cardiac Life Support course on November 8th. Registration is $80 and must be paid by Wednesday (11/1/17). Register online at www.uaccm.edu/workforce.

RUMMAGE SALE (11/2/17-11/4/17)
The First United Methodist Church in Morrilton is holding its Market Place giant rummage sale Thursday (11/2/17) through Saturday (11/4/17). Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. is the early bird sale with a 30% mark-up. Friday is a regular priced sale with a bake sale from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Saturday from 8:00-11:00 a.m. the sale is half price on everything or $5 for all you can put in a bag.
