Morrilton High School's 15th annual Reunion Brunch for all alumni who have been out of school at least 50 years will be held Saturday, June 6th.  The cost is $15 per person and the reservation deadline is Friday (5/29/15).  Call Bea Thompson at 354-4003 or Anita Huett at 354-4321.

BBQ LUNCH (5/29/15)
The Nemo Vista senior girls' basketball team will be having a barbeque lunch fundraiser on Friday (5/29/15) from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in front of the high school to help pay for their state championship rings.  Sack lunches are $5 and include barbeque sandwich, chips, cookie and a drink.

Saturday (5/30/15) is the final day for producers to file prevented planted acreage/credit for grain sorghum through the Farm Service Agency. All producers are encouraged to visit the Conway/Faulkner/Perry County FSA office in Morrilton prior to the deadline to file a report.

FOOD DRIVE (5/30/15)
Woodmen of the World Chapter 70 and the Perry Baptist Church are holding a food drive on Saturday (5/30/15) from 10:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the church located on West 2nd Avenue in Perry.  You're asked to bring two non-perishable food items and enjoy a hamburger or hot dog, chips and drink, along with free DNA and fingerprinting for children.  All food and monetary donations will go to the Perry Baptist Church Food Pantry for needy families in the community.

BIBLE SCHOOL (6/1/15-6/5/15)
Calvary Baptist Church in Morrilton will host Vacation Bible School Monday (6/1/15) through Friday (6/5/15) from 6:00-8:00 p.m. each night.  The theme is "Journey off the Map!"  For more information, call the church office at 354-2117.

The Tri-County Tea Party meeting will be held Monday (6/1/15) at 7:00 p.m. at the Clarksville Chamber of Commerce.  There will be a roundtable discussion in preparation for the July meeting which Senator Hendren will attend.

Attorney General Leslie Rutledge will set up a mobile office on Tuesday (6/2/15) from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Morrilton City Hall and from 1:00-3:00 p.m. where staff will be available to answer questions about services offered by the Office of the Attorney General and file consumer complaints.

ABATE 17 MEETING (6/2/15)
ABATE 17 will meet Tuesday (6/2/15) at 6:00 p.m. at Smitty's Barbeque in Conway.  All riders and motorcycle enthusiasts are welcome.

The Petit Jean Razorback Club's annual three-person scramble golf tournament will be held Wednesday (6/3/15) at Morrilton Country Club.  Entry fee is $210 per team.  To enter or sponsor a hole, call Mike Fleeman at 354-1305 or Buck Joyner at 977-7011.

POOL PARTY (6/3/15)
First Baptist Church of Morrilton will host a free pool party for children and youth up to the 12th grade on Wednesday (6/3/15) from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

SACRED HEART BAZAAR (6/5/15-6/6/15)
Sacred Heart Catholic School in Morrilton will hold its annual bazaar Friday (6/5/15) and Saturday (6/6/15) on the school parking lot.  The midway, featuring bingo, a kiddie land, silent auction and numerous other games and activities will be open Friday from 6:00-11:00 p.m. and Saturday from 5:00 p.m.-midnight.  The all-you-can-eat spaghetti and sausage and turkey and dressing dinner will be held Saturday from 5:00-8:30 p.m. and the drawing for the grand prize 2015 Jeep Wrangler Sport and other prizes will be held Saturday night.

The Cherry Hill Volunteer Fire Department will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast on Saturday (6/6/15) from 7:00-10:00 a.m. at the fire station on Cherry Hill Loop.  The menu includes scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, gravy, hashbrowns, pancakes, milk, orange juice and coffee.  There is no per plate charge, but donations will be accepted to defray operating expenses and update and maintain equipment for the fire department.

Morrilton High School's 15th annual Golden Reunion Brunch for all classes who graduated at least 50 years ago will take place Saturday (6/6/15) at 10:00 a.m. at the Morrilton High School cafeteria.

The Arkansas State Championship Dutch Oven Cookoff will be held Saturday (6/6/15) starting at 10:00 a.m. at Petit Jean State Park.  A Petit Jean Meats people's choice and youth cookoff starts at 11:00.  Lunch prepared by the top Dutch oven cooks from around the country will be served starting at 1:00 p.m. with donations going for scholarships and school supplies for area students.

BLOOD DRIVE (6/11/15)
The American Red Cross is holding a blood drive on Thursday (6/11/15) from 12:00-4:00 p.m. at Green Bay Packaging in Morrilton.

The St. John's College Great Books Seminar will be held at the Friday (6/12/15) and Saturday (6/13/15) at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute on Petit Jean Mountain.  The focus of the seminar will be on William Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice.  The seminar is open to anyone and requires no previous knowledge beyond a careful reading of the text.  To register or for more information, visit

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton will show the movie Grease at its next Starlight Cinema free outdoor movie night.  The movie will be shown Tuesday (6/16/15) beginning at sundown on the lawn outside the Fine Arts Building.  Free concessions will be provided while supplies last.
