​MORRILTON CITY COUNCIL (10/21/19)
The Morrilton City Council will meet in regular session on Monday (10/21/19) at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall.

RETIRED TEACHERS ASSOCIATION (10/24/19)
The Conway County Retired Teachers Association will meet Thursday (10/24/19) at 10:00 a.m. at Elia's Mexican Grill in Morrilton. All retired school personnel are invited.

BEANS AND CORNBREAD (10/24/19)
The CHI St. Vincent Morrilton Auxiliary will host a beans and cornbread lunch and mini bake sale on Thursday (10/24/19) from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. in the hospital dining room. Meals are $6. For carryouts, call 289-0239 or 977-2455. The Auxiliary is also holding a drawing for quilt that will be given away after the lunch. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5 and can be purchased at the hospital gift shop or front desk, or from any Auxiliary member.

NAACP (10/24/19)
The Conway County Branch NAACP will hold its regular monthly meeting on Thursday (10/24/19) at 6:00 p.m. at the Mt. Carmel Education Complex in Plumerville.

MHS FALL PLAY (10/24/19-10/27/19)
Morrilton High School will present its fall production of War of the Worlds: The Panic Broadcast on Thursday (10/24/19) and Saturday (10/26/19) at 6:00 p.m. and Sunday (10/27/19) at 2:00 p.m. Due to ongoing renovations of the auditorium, the performances will be held in the Morrilton High School cafeteria. Tickets are $3 for students and $5 for adults.

HAUNTED HOUSE (10/25/19-10/26/19)
Nemo Vista High School will host a haunted house on Friday (10/25/19) and Saturday (10/26/19), starting at 7:00 p.m. in the Agri Building. Admission is $5 per person.

HAUNTED FUN HOUSE (10/25/19-10/26/19)
A haunted fun house will be open at the Perry County Fairgrounds in Perryville on Friday (10/25/19) and Saturday (10/26/19) from 7:00-11:00 p.m. Admission is $6 per person, or $5 per person is you bring two cans of food for the food pantry.


TURKEY SHOOT (10/26/19)
The annual Springfield Turkey Shoot will take place Saturday (10/26/19) at 8:00 a.m. at the old Springfield School House on Hwy 92. The cost is $4 per shot and you can bring your own shotgun or use one that's provided. Shells will be provided. All proceeds benefit the Springfield School House Building Fund.

GHOSTLY HALLOWEEN (10/26/19)
The Petit Jean Mountain Cemetery Association will host a Ghostly Halloween at the cemetery on Saturday (10/26/19) from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Re-enactors will tell the stories of Petit Jean pioneers for your edification and enjoyment. Admission is free, but refreshments will be available and all donations are welcome. If you'd like to participate as a story teller, call Beth Powell at 501-590-2963.

SHAWN CAMP CONCERT (10/26/19)
The Central Arkansas Library System is sponsoring a concert featuring Grammy-winning Perryville native Shawn Camp with Verlon Thompson on Saturday (10/26/19) at 8:00 p.m. at Perryville High School. The concert is free, but you must pick up a wristband in person at any CALS branch, which includes the Max Milam Library in Perryville. Seating is limited and wristbands will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.

UACCM PAGEANT DEADLINE (10/28/19)
Monday (10/28/19) is the pre-registration deadline for the 2019 UACCM Pageant. The pageant will take place Saturday, November 9th, and is open to current UACCM students and girls between the ages of birth and 17 years.  Applications are available online at www.uaccm.edu or in the UACCM Business Technology Center, Room 200.

AUDUBON SOCIETY (10/28/19)
The Arkansas River Valley Audubon Society will meet Monday (10/28/19) at 7:00 p.m.  in the Visitors Center at Lake Dardanelle State Park. The program on insects in Antarctica will be presented by J.D. Gants, Assistant Professor of Biology at Hendrix College. Refreshments will be served and the public is invited.

HAUNTED HOUSE (10/30/19-10/31/19)
Nemo Vista High School will host a haunted house on Wednesday (10/30/19) and Thursday (10/31/19), starting at 7:00 p.m. in the Agri Building. Admission is $5 per person.


INTERGOVERNMENTAL COUNCIL (10/31/19)
The Conway County Intergovernmental Council will meet Thursday (10/31/19) at 9:00 a.m. in the first floor conference room at the courthouse in Morrilton to discuss the 2020 Census training.

MONSTERS ON MAIN (10/31/19)
Main Street Morrilton will host the 22nd annual Monsters on Main Street Halloween celebration in downtown Morrilton on Thursday (10/31/19). Trick-or-treating at downtown merchants will take place from 4:00-6:00 p.m. A pet costume contest will be held in the Broadway Pocket Park at 4:00 p.m. There will be special entertainment in the Rialto Theatre from4:00-6:00 and a costume contest for kids 18 and under will take place in the Rialto at 6:00 p.m. Hot dogs and drinks will be sold for $0.50 at the Morrilton Depot Museum, but all other activities are free.

TAILGATE PARTY (11/1/19)
A Dog Town Tailgate Party will take place prior to the Morrilton High School football game on Friday (11/1/19) in the south parking lot in front of the high school. Fish, chicken and shrimp dinners will be sold from 5:00-6:30 p.m. with a portion of the proceeds going to Devil Dog athletics and scholar-athletes.


VETERANS PARADE (11/2/19)
The 13th Annual Plumerville Veterans Parade in Plumerville will take place Saturday (11/2/19). LIne-up starts at 9:30 a.m. with the parade at 11:00. Veterans of Afghanistan will be honored. For more information, call 208-3467 or 208-2945.

PASTOR APPRECIATION SERVICE (11/3/19)
The Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church in Menifee will have an appreciation service for its pastor, Robert Thompson and family, on Sunday (11/3/19) at 2:30 p.m. The guest church will be the Mt. Gale Missionary Baptist Church from Conway and will feature its pastor, Reverend Forrest C. Cooper, as the guest speaker. Everyone is welcome.
