The Morrilton Police Department is offering information to anyone wishing to establish Neighborhood Watch Programs in the city. Any person, organization or neighborhood group wishing to establish such a program should contact Chief Norbert Gunderman or Lt. Curtis Russell at 354-0131.

The Morrilton Area Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee is encouraging individuals to adopt a street or section of road in the city or county to maintain. A sign saying "Picked up with Pride" will be posted to thank you for your dedication. For more information call the MACC at 354-2393.

All individuals 55 and older can walk on the walking track in the C-4 Gymnasium free of charge during all operating hours as long as there is not a scheduled activity.

The Conway County Sheriff's Office is offering Neighborhood watch programs to the community or any organization interested in sponsoring a watch group. If you’re interested contact Joyce Atkinson to make a presentation at your meeting, on how to start a neighborhood watch. The Safe Place is collecting old cell phones. If you have any old phones to donate, you can drop them off at any of the following businesses: Fred's, Cat Claws, Bill's Pharmacy or Curves.

The MHS special Olympics team is recycling old phones. Please bring your old cell phones to the MHS office, if you have any questions please call 354-9430. There is a box in the office to put them in.

The Arkansas Workforce Center’s Youth Employment Services can help high school juniors or seniors interested in working part-time while attending school or in the summer. They can help with basic skills like reading and math. For more information, call Martha Boyer or Angela Morales at 354-9793.

St. Anthony’s Medical Center offers diabetes education classes for those interested in learning about diabetes care and pre-diabetes. New classes start every month. They include ten hours of diabetes education for new on-set diabetes patients and patients with uncontrolled blood sugar. The classes are covered by Medicare and most major insurance companies. BINGO (EVERY MONDAY) 

The Morrilton Knights of Columbus hosts Bingo every Monday at the KC Hall on North Cedar Street. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Games start at 7:00. Concessions are available. All proceeds go to Sacred Heart School and other local charities.

MELODIES AND MEDICINE (THRU 4/10/10)

The third annual Melodies and Medicine fundraiser for St. Anthony's Foundation is scheduled for Saturday, April 10, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Anthony's Medical Center.

PLANT SALE (THRU 4/16/10)

The Petit Jean Garden Club will hold its annual plant sale April 16-17 at the corner of Moose Street and Railroad Avenue in downtown Morrilton.  The presale is underway now.  Flats are $11 each and 1/2 pots are $3.50.  To order your plants, call Anita Walker at 354-3396 or Maycel Simpson at 889-3085.

NEMO VISTA REGISTRATION (3/10/10)

Nemo Vista Elementary will hold preschool registration on Wednesday (3/10/10) from 3:30-5:00 p.m. in the elementary office.  No early registrations will be allowed.  It will be on a first-come first-serve basis.  For more information, call the elementary office at 893-2435.

The Conway County Library Board of Directors will meet Thursday (3/11/10) at 8:00 a.m. at the Morrilton Area Chamber of Commerce.

HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR (3/11/10)

Holocaust survivor Margit Meissner will present accounts of her experiences on Thursday (3/11/10) at noon in the H.B. White Auditorium at Morrilton High School and at 7:00 p.m. in the UACCM Fine Arts Auditorim.  For more information, contact Jacob Ward at 977-2142 or at ward@uaccm.edu.

RELAY FOR LIFE MEETING (3/11/10)

WINE TASTING (3/11/10)

A wine tasting event hosted by Bruce Cochran is set for Thursday (3/11/10) from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Rialto Gallery in downtown Morrilton.  The evening will combine fine wines paired with delectable foods framed by a gallery of photgraphy.  Tickets are $25 and all proceeds will benefit the Arts Council of Conway County.  For tickets, call Jim Schuler at 652-0676 or Susan Henderson at 208-3121.

SPRING SPLENDOR PAGEANT (3/12/10)

JEWELRY SALE AND BEAN LUNCHEON (3/12/10)

St. Anthony's Medical Center Auxiliary is hosting a jewelry and handbag sale, along with a beans and cornbread lunch on Friday (3/12/10).  The jewelry and handbag sale begins at 7:00 a.m. in the St. Anthony's Grill Area.  The lunch will be served from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. for $6.  All proceeds go to further the healing mission of St. Anthony's Medical Center.  For more information, call Leslie McNeal at 977-2426.

EXCEL TRAINING (3/12/10)

The Community Education Department at UACCM is offering "Microsoft Excel 2007" training.  The class will meet on Mondays, March 15 and 29, from 6:00-9:00 p.m.  The registration deadline is Friday (3/12/10) at noon.  Call Janie Wagner at 977-2078.

PRESCHOOL REGISTRATION (3/12/10)

The Wonderview School District is holding preschool preregistration through Friday (3/12/10).  Parents are asked to bring a copy of the child's birth certificate, shot record, social security card and proof of income.  Registration can be done at the elementary office from 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. any day through Friday (3/12/10).  For more information, call 354-4736.

STATE FINALS TICKETS (3/12/10)

Advance tickets for Wonderview's state championship basketball game against Bay on Friday in Hot Springs are on sale at the Wonderview superintendent's office.  Price is $8 for adults and $7 for students.  All tickets will be $8 at the door.  For more information, call 354-0211.

UNLIMITED REALM CONFERENCE (3/12/10-3/14/10)

The Church Alive in Conway will host the annual Unlimited Realm Conference Friday (3/12/10) through Sunday (3/14/10), featuring international speakers, Karen Wheton and Damon Thompson.  Conference times will be Friday (3/12/10) at 7:00 p.m., Saturday (3/13/10) at 9:30 a.m., and Sunday (3/14/10) at 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.  Registration is $40.  For more information or registration forms, visit www.thechurchalive.org, or call the church office at 327-4763.

YARD SALE (3/13/10)

The Hattieville Baptist Youth will be having a yard sale, bake sale and car wash on Saturday (3/13/10) starting at 7:00 a.m. at the Fellowship Hall of Hattieville Baptist Church.  Proceeds will go for a youth trip and camp.

SPAGHETTI DINNER (3/13/10)

A spaghetti dinner and silent auction will be held Saturday (3/13/10) from 3:00-7:30 p.m. at the Lord's Schoolhouse Community Building on Highway 95 north of Morrilton.  All proceeds will go to the Conway-Perry County Relay for Life.  Tickets are $7 in advance or $8 at the door.  Call Linda Hubbard at 208-1394.

CHURCH CONCERT (3/13/10)

The Frank Natchett Family will be in concert at Pleasant Valley General Baptist Church on Saturday (3/13/10) at 7:00 p.m.  Refreshments will be served.  Everyone is welcome.

KINDERGARTEN PREREGISTRATION (3/15/10)

Morrilton Primary Kindergarten pre-registration will be begin Monday (3/15/10) and continue through Friday, April 2.  Pre-registration folders may be picked up at the Morrilton Primary School office weekdays from 8:00-3:30 p.m.  Parents must bring Social Security card, birth certificate, shot record and physical assessment.

ELECTION COMMISSION (3/15/10)

The Conway County Election Commission will meet Monday (3/15/10) at 9:00 a.m. to draw ballot positions for the primary election.

TWO RIVERS SCHOOL BOARD (3/15/10)

The Two Rivers School District will conduct its regular monthly board meeting on Monday (3/15/10) at 7:00 p.m. in the Ola Auditorium.

TABLE WAITING FUNDRAISER (3/18/10)

The Liberty Bank Relay for Life Team will be waiting tables at Morrilton Drive-Inn on Thursday (3/18/10) from 5:00-9:00 p.m.  All tips collected will go to Relay For Life.

CHOIR CONCERT (3/18/10)

The UACCM Choir, under the direction of Shannah Cummings, will present a concert on Thursday (3/18/10) at 7:00 p.m. in the UACCM Fine Arts Auditorium.  The program will feature tunes performed by both the jazz ensemble group, Soundscape, and the full college choir.  The event is free to the public.

SOLGOHACHIA MASONIC LODGE (3/18/10)

The Solgohachia Masonic Lodge will meet Thursday (3/18/10) at 7:00 p.m.

PLUMERVILLE MASONIC LODGE (3/19/10)

The Spring Valley Baptist Church in Morrilton will host its 112th anniversary services on Sunday (3/21/10) at 2:30 p.m.  Reverend Henry Harris of St. Matthew Baptist Church will deliver the message.  Everyone is invited.
